background
Ann has been in the medical editing field (and at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center) since 2000. Her job duties include editing manuscripts and grant proposals, assisting on the journal Neuro-Oncology, and managing the OncoLog web site and the Department of Scientific Publications intranet web site. She also lays out the course notebook for a department-run workshop and writes stories for the workshop's newsletter. Quotes
“The problem with defending the purity of the English language is that English is about as pure as a cribhouse whore. We don’t just borrow words; on occasion, English has pursued other languages down alleyways to beat them unconscious and rifle their pockets for new vocabulary.” - James D. Nicoll
"There are 10 kinds of people in the world: Those who understand binary and those who don't." - Unknown |
