Professional
background
Jude began his career as a medical editor in April 1990, when he joined the Department of Scientific Publications at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. After 10 years there, he moved across the street to join the Office of Scientific Publications at the Texas Heart Institute. There, Jude edited and wrote for staff physicians and laboratory researchers. He also served as the founding managing editor and a writer for Heart Watch, an institutional newsletter targeted at cardiovascular surgeons and cardiologists. In 2005, Jude moved to Austin, TX, to become a medical writer for PPD, Inc., a contract research organization that specializes in drug development services. Then, in late 2006, armed with the knowledge gained in both academia and the pharmaceutical industry, he left PPD to launch his current career as a freelance medical writer and editor.
